This has been a memorable week -as they all are! It began with a visit from a missionary companion from Great Britain – Elder Evan Kitsell and his wife Rosemary. The Kitsells live in Silsden near Leeds, England. We have been able to maintain a close friendship now for almost 50 years.

One of our adventures included a riverboat ride in Hannibal Missouri. It was a perfect day. Warm with a cool breeze off the Mississippi. We also enjoyed the sites here in Nauvoo. We bid them farewell in Burlington, Iowa where they boarded the Amtrak train to Chicago.

As the summer heats up, the performances around Nauvoo are also increasing. Tonight we went to a performance in the Visitor’s Center Theater.

The program is entitled ‘The Love of the Savior’. 24 young, vocal missionaries plus an orchestra of missionaries presented a beautiful musical program. It was truly moving and a must-see if you visit. The picture that opens this post was taken by Rick Sherbel from Bountiful. It was the sky last Wednesday about 7:45am looking east from the shops that are used to maintain the Nauvoo facilities.

At this half-way point of our mission, I realize how truly blessed we are to be here. Nauvoo is a blessed place with a powerful story.

I see you have a new pet deer! Nice! Love y’all!
Love these updates and you guys!
